If we can get a number of Peninsula players booking in to the same StepBridge session it might almost seem like a Peninsula game online.
StepBridge:
- earns masterpoints
- is a regular club that happens to be online and always has been online
- first 5 registrations are free - you are given 250 points upon registration
- can book into a session up to 3 days in advance
- can book you and partner at the same time - cost 50 points for the pair
- after the free points are used, it costs $3 per game
- set sessions, just like a normal club (weekdays 10am, 1pm, 4pm & 8pm; weekends are different)
- has monthly red point events
- very easy to navigate
- fun and normal way to play bridge
How to get started:
1. Go to stepbridge website - stepbridge.com.au - click on GET STARTED - click on “JOINING UP & Downloading the program” - fill out the required information - click next
2. Register and wait for your email
3. The email titled “StepBridge Trial Account” will arrive the next day usually. (Two other emails will arrive too)
4. In this email you will have your player name and password. Write these down, you’ll need them to login each time
5. You will also have instructions on how to INSTALL, click ‘here’ to do this and follow directions. It will place the icon on your desktop. Windows, Mac and iPad are supported.
6. This email also has quite a few links to make it easy for you to get started
7. You will also get an email from your own TD ( I’m guessing this is Technical Director), who will guide you to make sure you don’t get stressed and will walk you through the process over the phone if need be (one of the three welcome emails you’ll get)
8. It is the easiest download I’ve ever done and within a minute I was ready to play.
How to book in for a session for just yourself:
1. Login to stepbridge
2. Click login when the box with your name appears; if your name isn’t there, you’ll need to add it
3. Get rid of the welcome note after seeing upcoming events
4. Click on “show tables”
5. Click on the session you’d like to play in
6. If playing without a partner, click on Join Activity;
7. If booking in, in advance - click on INFO
8. If booking for you and your partner, type in partners username in the box and click ‘invite partner’ and then click register; if booking to play without a partner, just click register.
9. Just like at the club, you will be expected to stay playing until the session finishes.
10. Alerting is similar to BBO - you alert your own bid not partner's while you are making it.
11. You will get the results and hand records about 3 minutes after the session is done.
