Photo of successful Peninsula Pairs

Our Swiss Pairs Congress was a great success, in large part due to the huge contributions from the convener Cassandra Mitchell (see her wrap below!) and a number of other key volunteers before and on the day.

Have a look at the photos that Cassandra took on our Facebook Group

Check the full results. Congratulations to Jocelyn Bertram and Lyn Smith as the most successful Peninsula pair in the Open field and to Ray Hurst and Nerida Gillies who were runners-up in the Restricted field.

Cassandra writes: "Sunday 28 July saw 124 people playing in this annual congress with 50 members and 74 visitors. Congratulations go to all the winners!

Many thanks go to everyone who helped in any way - far too many to mention. There were flyer preparers and distributors; office support; catering support – special thanks go to Gayle who is amazing; all those people who helped clean the fans, tables, counters, tidy and clean everything within an inch of its life; people who helped set up; people who helped clean up afterwards; people who took the entry fees; all those members who brought food; people who helped in ways behind the scenes; dealers; people who helped print the scoresheets.

All these jobs need to be done for this and every congress. It is a huge job for one person to organise so PLEASE consider which one of these jobs you can help with in the future. If lots of people take on one job, the event gets done well and without so much pressure on just a few."
