Eleven tables played in our NSWBA UHMP Championship final on Friday 29 November, with the boards scored across the state. The state wide results are now available together with the details of the event.
Congratulations to Sandy Carter and Nerida Gillies who came second in the 25-50MP category, each winning a Bridge Shop voucher and a subscription to the Novice edition of the Australian Bridge magazine.
On the same link the NSWBA event organiser invites comments from any participant, in the lead up to the event being held again in November 2020.

Lots of food and lots of friendly faces at this year’s Christmas Party. Check out the photos!
Thanks to all those volunteers who helped – you are the club’s Christmas present to our members.
(And particular thanks to Gayle who dropped out of playing on the day to fill in for the expected help who was unexpectedly ill on the day! And also to Andrew Ikin for doing all sorts of unexpected tasks on the day - David.)

I would like to thank Peninsula members for this sensational surprise. It could not have happened at a better time as I was struggling and this will give me a new lease of life.
The new electric wheelchair gives me my independence back and allows me to get to bridge under my own steam on the tough days. Maybe even play some night games
It will give some respite to Marieta and John, my bridge chauffeurs, who can attest I am not smiling all the time.
After buying the chair there was some money left which I will put toward air conditioning and mobility aids for my home. My circumstances have changed recently and I may have to move so I am holding off until that is finalised.

Congratulations to Bronwyn Neal and Lynne Talmont who won the 2019 U10 Individual event, played over the year on the first Wednesday of the month from March through November. Each individual's best seven scores count. This is the first major event in which many of our newer players compete.
Bronwyn and Lynne won the event as equal first ahead of Anthony Colenbrander, and then in equal fourth place, Janelle Halliwell and Cathy Nelson.
The event will be repeated in 2020 for those with less than 10MP at the start of the year.

Cath Whiddon and David Farmer triumphed in the 2019 Padman Trophy. They were leading with one session to go and managed to win the final session to confirm their victory.
Runners-up were Hans van Weeren and Anne Small ahead of Jan McLennan and Linda Abbenbroek.
The Padman was played over eleven Tuesday nights from February through December with the top 9 scores counting.

Susan Eason and Sandy Carter dominated the 2019 U20MP Individual competition, equal winners ahead of Bronwyn Neal and Lynne Talmont who were equal third.
The event was played on the first Friday of each month from March through November - with the best seven of these nine possible session scores counting. Susan and Sandy averaged an impressive 66.18%. Susan and Sandy won the same event in 2018, but will unfortunately no longer be eligible in 2020.

Following a recommendation by our Bridge Education group, the Club has decided to rename our "Supervised Sessions" to "Practice Play" to better reflect what goes on.
Nothing else has changed and our Practice Play session directors look forward to seeing you there!
