    State Mixed Pairs 2015

The SMP club qualifier was won by Rachael and Maurice Loomes and in second place were Alan Davies and Vivien Eldridge. Well done to all! The club will sponsor the top 4 pairs to be sent to the final which will be held at the NSWBA on the 23rd and 24th of May.

    GNOT 2015

The winners of the GNOT qualifier were the Loomes team of Maurice and Rachael Loomes, Alan Davies and Vivien Eldridge. They had 9 wins which means they beat every other team. Second were the Small team with Michael and Margaret Draper, Anne Small and Ron Smith. The winners of this event and the evening GNOT (in August/September) will go to the Metropolitan final at the NSWBA in October.

    News from the Gold Coast

The big news from the Gold Coast is that Chris Duggin and Faye Carnovale won the Restricted Pairs. This is an amazing achievement! Very well done!

Kelly Barber and Leslie Treasure won the C section of the restricted pairs. Alan Davies and Vivien Eldridge were 8th in the Intermediate pairs. There were lots of other good results.

    Club Pairs Championship 2015

The winners of the club pairs championship for 2015 are John Rogers and Margaret Partridge. Second were Faye Carnovale and Shirley Sheppard.

Unfortunately due to a scoring error Faye and Shirley were initially proclaimed the winners but this was corrected the same day.

It was good to see so many people participating this year.

2015 Margaret Smale Inter-club Teams Challenge

Peninsula wo the trophy last year and we were hoping to hang on to it but in the end it was North Shore Bridge club who triumphed.

Thirty-six teams from seven bridge clubs battled it out against each other to see which club has the best talent across the range of Masterpoint categories. The three smaller club entries from Gordon Bridge Centre, Bridge Today (Narrabeen RSL), and Balgowlah-Dee Why combined into an All-Stars group to compete with strong entries from Peninsula, Trumps, North Shore and Manly Leagues. A successful club needed to enter teams of all levels of experience with each of the fields contributing to the club result.

Teams were divided into four fields (based on each team's player with the highest number of MP):

    1. Over 750 MP (8 teams)
    2. 300-750 MP (10 teams)
    3. 100-300 MP (10 teams)
    4. Less than 100 MP (8 teams)

The full results including pair datums for these four fields are published here.

North Shore won the 2015 Margaret Smale Sydney North Inter-Club Teams with 16 points ahead of Peninsula (13) and Trumps (11).

    Members Only Teams January 2015

motjanThere were 12 teams in the MOT today and team 1 were the victors. Well done to Joan Rutherford, Joan Fawcett, Eunice Newman and Dorit Taylor. We can all learn some valuable lessons from the way they play teams. They had 5 wins in 5 matches and managed to stay out of trouble all day unlike most of the rest of the field!

Second were Lynn Baker, Yvonne Perkins, Marg and John Rogers and third were Chris Duggin, Jocelyn Bertram, Anne Small and Cath Whiddon. Well done to all of them.
