A tribute by Jim Fairley to  Rocco Scamarcia

On October 4 Rocco left us to play bridge with the Angels.
No doubt they are enjoying his company as much as we did.
After a successful business career Rocco retired to enjoy bridge, golf, his family and his friends.
At the bridge table Rocco was a real charmer and seldom sat down without a friendly greeting and often a compliment to those seated.
He was a very keen bridge player, bidding with enthusiasm. It often seemed that his favourite bid was “double” that was frequently successful.
He also had an excellent bridge memory and often remembered the cards played right to the end of the hand.
Rocco was a keen golfer. He was a founding member of the Italian Golf Club and played regularly at Monash and elsewhere.
He was a great socialiser, frequently enjoying a cup of coffee and a chat with his mates.
Rocco leaves behind a devoted wife, Pamela, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and a multitude of friends.
We will all miss him.
