We are a volunteer-run not-for-profit club - this supports our friendly culture and keeps our table money levels below many other clubs. Of course it means we also regularly look for volunteers to take on roles in the club.

Currently we are looking for - drink servers at our major functions, office support for events, additional dealers, fill-in players, Facebook support - see below to see if one of these roles might suit you.

  • Drink servers at our major functions - As part of our requirements when we supply and serve alcohol at our major functions (such as Melbourne Cup and Christmas Party) we need to have servers who have completed the Responsible Service of Alcohol training. If you can offer to serve drinks at these functions we will pay for you to undertake this online training. Talk with Bill Fitzsimons about this opportunity to help the club.
  • Office support for events - Many of our volunteer event conveners need support from someone comfortable with office tools to create and distribute professional event fliers and entry forms (templates already exist). Talk with David Farmer in the first instance about this opportunity.
  • Additional dealers - We need to add some additional dealers to our dealing team - normally a pair of dealers undertakes the board dealing for the club one week a quarter. A new volunteer would receive all necessary training and often be paired with an experienced dealer. Talk with John Rogers if you can see this as an opportunity for you.
  • Fill-in players - To support our members who unexpectedly find themselves partnerless we have a list of players who are happy to be phoned to see if they are available to come in for a free game. If you can do this please ask a director to add your name and phone number to the list on the directors' noticeboard. Any questions to David Farmer.
  • Facebook support - If you are a Facebooker and would like to help the club promote its Facebook image and advertise its lessons and events there, please talk with David Farmer.
