Image of financial statements

Dear fellow Peninsula Club member,

I am writing to you today in my capacity as Treasurer of the Club. The Club's annual accounts will be formally audited this year and our external auditor requires that we verify the values expressed in the Club's Balance Sheet (the financial statement of our assets and liabilities) as this reflects the equity that we as members have in the Club. We need to do a few things that will not impact you, such as complete a stock take of our fixed assets - computers, tables, etc. to verify that they exist and are appropriately valued, and this will be done by Committee members.

One issue however may impact a number of members – over time the Club's accounting records have not kept a complete record of how many session cards have been issued to members for directing, dealing, helping in the kitchen, winning sessions, etc. and how many remain unused (and are therefore a liability for the Club) so, like our fixed assets we need to complete a stock take of the outstanding session cards. Note – this does not relate to our green Pre-Paid Vouchers (PPVs).

To count the outstanding session cards, we propose the following:

  • · From 1 July we will be issuing and using new blue session cards
  • · During July, we ask members to return all previously-issued session cards (including any remaining winners’ tickets) in exchange for the same number of new session cards which will continue to have the value of one game each.
  • · From 1 September all old session cards will no longer be accepted.

So, do you have to do anything? If you have any game session cards (other than Pre-Paid Vouchers you purchased), yes - can you please start collecting these so you can bring them to the Club during July, and verify the count of these with our Admin Assistant, Robin Ho, or myself so we can arrange the issuance of new vouchers?

If you have any questions about the above or any other aspects of our financial responsibilities and management of the Club please don't hesitate to contact me on This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or 9979 5752.
