Dear members,
Our Swiss Pairs Congress
This month, we host our annual Swiss Pairs Congress, one of our major events of the year. Players come from many other clubs to enjoy this event.
It is a full day of bridge, from 10am until late afternoon.
If you haven’t attended a Congress before, it is an exciting way to start. The great thing about Swiss Pairs is that very quickly, everyone finds their ‘level’ in the room, so you are soon playing at a table with people with similar experience.
It was my first congress and I really enjoyed it. Sign up with your partner and come and join in the fun. Any questions - please speak to Cassandra Mitchell who is the convener.
Premises update
We have had a number of good discussions with Council and hope to know more about our future options later this month.
The Council are very engaged with us and are listening to us, as a large and valued community group.
Our attention is now primarily on identifying a temporary location to use from the end of 2020. We are searching for suitable temporary premises and we need your help.
Do you know of anywhere with large internal space, plenty of parking and availability throughout the week? Any and all suggestions are most welcome. You might know of a hall in your suburb that we haven’t yet identified.
An additional way that you could help would be to do some searching for grants and financial assistance - if this is something that appeals to you, I’d love to hear from you.
Happy bridging!
