A successful Charity Day was held in the clubhouse on Wed 19th October.
We raised $3,120 to add to our Charity account which has $1,464 and will donate $4,500 (once the figures have been confirmed) to One Meal (Northern Beaches branch) who specialise in providing meals and other services directly to the needy and other humanitarian local support groups.
Thankyou to everyone who donated and helped and Rob Scott for organising.

Promotion started 3 weeks prior asking for donations of wine and spirits that could be used in raffles. Members were generous with approximately 45 bottles donated. In the lead-up, raffling a single bottle of french champagne ($1 ticket) on 3 busy days raised $100 on each occasion. Raffle sales started a week prior and were well supported by members of various sessions. Additional raffle donations were made by Cath Whiddon (2 x lessons for 4), Christine Egan (luncheon x 8 members) and a $100 meal voucher by Pittwater RSL.
Members were asked to 'bring a plate' for afternoon tea and an abundance of yummy food was available for everyone on the day. The event started at 12 noon with a glass of sparkling wine and the bridge game starting at 12.30-ish.
The days 'entertainment' started with a lucky door prize (envelopes on the tables), a 'heads & tails' game and some trivia quiz questions - all winning nice prizes. Drinks and nibbles were available after the game for those who wished to stay and socialise.
There were seventeen tables of players.
