Margaret and John Rogers together with the Moffits from Darwin won the Intermediate Teams at the Gold Coast Congress. This is a wonderful achievement. Congratulations! There were 94 teams participating in this event.
Peter Clarke and Hans van Weeren were second in the Ivy Dahler Restricted Swiss pairs.
Alan Davies and Vivien Eldridge with their team mates Kevin Dean and Bob Hunt won the best mixed team in the Intermediate Teams.
There were so many Peninsula members competing at this wonderful congress. There were a few other good results. Max Paterson and Colin Dempster ended up 13th in the Restricted Pairs (A final) and 8th in the Restricted Ivy Dahler Swiss Pairs. Lyn Baker and Peter Robinson got into the A final of the Intermediate Pairs. Suzanne Cole and Delores Graves were 3rd in the C final. Ray Hurst and Heidi Colenbrander and Sandi Rooke and Susan Jensen did very well to get into the A final of the Novice Pairs and Christine Egan, Di Agostino, Marieta Borthwick and Annegrete Kolding did well in the other sections of the Novice Pairs. Kelly Barbour and Janice Steward did well in the the B final of the Restricted Pairs.
And finally I would like to mention the Band-Aid team. Martin Beech and Chris Duggin flew in at the last minute to join Leslie Treasure and Lori Neville when their team mates had to pull out due to illness.
