The Harlequin Teams Day was a great success, with lots of pairs enjoying their first experience of teams play. Pairs who had no or very limited experience of teams play were combined with an experienced pair so that the experienced pair could help them learn about and enjoy the teams experience.
Congratulations go to Team Agostino - Di Agostino, Christine Egan, Yvonne Edwards and Julie Daniel who came first and were presented with well deserved wine and chocolates by Sarah. Check below for the full results and more photos.
Graham Edwards and Rob Miller, who came fourth on the day
In the words of our President: “Our Harlequin Teams event was organised specifically to introduce players to the Team competition format. It was very well attended and enjoyed by all. Participants commented how much fun it was and how it introduced them to lots of Club Members, as well as to teams. The true ‘winners’ of the day (in my view!) were participants like Graham Edwards and Rob Miller who bravely ventured into teams, not knowing quite what to expect and with barely a masterpoint or two to their names. Well done to all of you who gave it a try and I hope you keep playing teams in the future.”
Thanks to Cath Whiddon for convening the event and John McIlrath for directing. At the outset David Farmer explained the differences between the Teams and Pairs game.
