Peninsula attended the North Shore Bridge Club's Two Men and a Truck Restricted and Novice Congress on the weekend of 24-25 June in force. And returned in triumph with:
- Sarah Young and Len Evershed (seeded 20th) winning the Swiss Pairs Restricted Category,
- Hans van Weeren, Peter Clarke, Heidi Colenbrander and Ray Hurst winning the Swiss Teams Restricted Category, and
- Christine Egan, Di Agostino, Sue Evershed and John Simmonds as runners-up in the Swiss Teams Novice Category.
Peninsula fielded at least 5 of the 38 pairs in the Swiss Pairs event. As well as taking first place Peninsula also took fifth place with Peter Clarke and Hans van Weeren (seeded 6th). Check the Swiss Pairs full results.
There was an exciting finish to the Swiss Teams on Sunday. Peninsula's van Weeren team (seeded 7th) was not in the first three places with one match to go. In the last round van Weeren managed a significant win against one of the top three place holders, and the other two played a draw. The result? Team van Weeren won with 81.87 VPs against second place's 81.86 - the narrowest margin I have seen. Check the Swiss Teams full results.
Congratulations to our representatives who continue Peninsula's achievements in these masterpoint categories!
