Thirty three teams, including twelve from Peninsula, played in the 2018 Swiss Teams Congress held on Sunday 22 April.
Thanks to Heidi Colenbrander and others we have an engaging photo record of the day (including all the winners) for all to enjoy. You can also check the full congress results.
The congress went well in spite of an unexpected triangle. The director, Ronnie Ng, did a fantastic job. The 33 teams included 6 ‘restricted’ teams. Gayle King and her helpers provided wonderful food all day which was much appreciated.
The winners were Julian Foster, David Weston, Jenna Gibbons and Helena Dawson and the runners up were Susan Humphries, Jessica Brake, Liam Milne and Shane Harrison.
The winners in the Restricted category were Kit Meyers, Fiona Fawcett, Kerry Rymer and Fiona Lavery. The best Peninsula team, Margaret and Michael Draper, Anne Small and Hans van Weeren, came 8th.
This board in Round 7 caused a lot of teeth gnashing around the room. The sensible pairs ended up in 3 or 4C but nearly everyone else came to grief. Very tricky.
