We had our first of 4 Novice Team Events on 14th March , held at Elanora Golf Club with a wonderful sit-down lunch.
In addition to playing with Elanora Golf Club players we played against Roseville Golf Club and Manly Golf Club players. We just missed being 2nd by a few points.
In May we are the hosts so are looking forward to that.
Half a dozen Peninsula pairs entered into this North Shore Bridge Club special Swiss Pairs event on Sun 10 Mar. Many of us had our triumphs during the day, but our club highlights were:
- Yvonne Edwards and Maris Taylor winning the best restricted pair for the event
- Sandy Carter and Nerida Gillies reaching the top table for the last round in this open event
We had a good Teams Day on Sunday March 10th with 7 tables and food and drinks. See here for some photos of the event (thanks Susan). (click the four little squares in the top right corner to show thumbnails).
Unfortunately the Directors had a hard time as the scoring program refused to provide all the results so we do not have any overall scores but are working on it. It may have been user error, of course!
Thanks to Cath Whiddon for organizing a practice teams day on Thu Feb 15th for 12 teams. Trish Berry and Dee Rowe administered the players.

Congratulations to Cath Whiddon and David Farmer who won this event. 23 pairs competed and thanks to Bruce Kleem who directed.
Robin Ho and Alexander Cook came second (photo inside) and Vivien Eldridge and Patrick Starck came third.
Congratulations to Team Carter Gillies Cathcart Simmonds who won the U300 Swiss Teams at the Canberra Summer Festival of Bridge.
Jim Stewart and partner came second in the Two Days Pairs.
Quite a few club players also played.
We ran our session for this event at the club in December. The final results, scored in 4 masterpoint groups, are available here.
Lindsay Rockett and Deonne Samodol had the Club's best score coming 10th overall.
An enjoyable day was spent on Sun Dec 10 by 101 people playing bridge and eating.
