The PBC Committee organised an Expert Determination to resolve the Peninsula Club Pairs Championship dispute. The panel consisted of two eminent members of the bridge community – John McIlrath (director) and John Brownie (retired supreme court judge). The experts determined that the substitution of Lyn Smith for Maurice Loomes was legal and that there is no reason to think otherwise than that Rachael Loomes acted quite properly.
Accordingly the Club Pairs Championship result will be reinstated and Rachael and Maurice Loomes be declared the winners. The Determination can be read in full here.
