Some Peninsula members attended the Coffs Harbour Congress and a good time was had by all. The Smith team with Lyn Smith, Cath Whiddon, Alan Davies and Vivien Eldridge were second in the <1000 mps section of the open division. If you haven't been before you should consider attending the Coffs Congress. It is very well organised in a great location with an excellent lunch supplied every day and good prizes for the winners.
The Peninsula Pairs Congress was a most successful event. Lyn Smith and Jocelyn Bertram were the best Peninsula Pair. Click here for the full results. 10 Peninsula players entered the NSWBA State Individual competition yesterday and did very well. The event was won by Julian Foster, Jen Ardill was second and Vivien Eldridge was equal third with Warren Lazar! You play with and against all the other participants using a standard system card.

Kelly Barber and Peter Mylchreest were the run-away winners with a whopping 71.30%. This event was run as one field by director Nick Hughes.
During the regular Wednesday afternoon session, from 15th July onwards, a separate section will be set up for Novice players with less than 10 Masterpoints. The Director for this section will be a member of the Bridge Education team.You can come without a partner and either be paired up with another person who has come alone or else play with the Director. You should be seated by 12:15, but it would be advisable to arrive by 12 if you have come without a partner.This could be an excellent opportunity to start playing in a regular Duplicate session with and against players of a similar standard and may also be a way of finding a compatible Bridge partner for the future.
On Wednesday 27 May we will introduce an additional evening bridge session, starting at 7.30 pm. For this new session, you can come alone and be paired up on the night.
