The club is introducing a new teams competition soon, running on BBO.
It will be divided into groups of 5 teams who will play each other at any time agreed between the players between Friday and Wednesday of each week. Each week one team has a sit out.
Each match will comprise 2x10 board rounds. At the end of the tenth board the pairs in one of the teams will swap so that each pair plays 10 boards against each of the pairs in the other team.
A ladder will be calculated for each group based on 2 points for a win and 1 for a draw. At end of each month there will be promotion and relegation of the top and bottom teams of each group.
Initially the teams will be allocated to groups based on total ABF Masterpoints of the four players. After the first set, new teams entering will start at the bottom. Hopefully this process will mean teams in each group will be relatively well matched.
We will be running a matchmaking service so if you want to participate and don’t have another pair or even don’t have a partner we will help find you a team. The games will be free and there will be no Masterpoints.
