Margaret and John Rogers together with the Moffits from Darwin won the Intermediate Teams at the Gold Coast Congress. This is a wonderful achievement. Congratulations! There were 94 teams participating in this event.
Peter Clarke and Hans van Weeren were second in the Ivy Dahler Restricted Swiss pairs.
Alan Davies and Vivien Eldridge with their team mates Kevin Dean and Bob Hunt won the best mixed team in the Intermediate Teams.

Jean Quin has been an active member of Peninsula Bridge Club for many years and today Sarah presented her with a bouquet to say farewell and good luck as Jean is moving to Queensland.
Beverley Schultz reminded us of the many contributions Jean had made to the club in the past. The cakes during the tea break were delicious - particularly the lemon one!

Did you know that our Bridge Club is the 4th largest in NSW and the 11th largest in Australia?
It's run by volunteers and one of our prominent volunteers has been Sue Riley. As well as director duties, Sue also runs the charity days.
She has recently given up writing the directors roster and today, Sarah, our president, took the opportunity to present her with a bouquet and say thank you for her great contribution to the Club. Thanks Sue.

As many people know, John and I met at the Gold Coast Congress eight years ago, so it's always somewhat of a sentimental journey for us, despite the fact that we haven't really distinguished ourselves in the past, although John, playing with his original team, had come second in the Restricted.
This time we played with Sue and Ken Moffitt, a really interesting couple who live in the Northern Territory. Sue has achieved local fame for writing a book called "Darwin in the Wet".We met them at the Darwin Congress last year, and, as we all got on well, decided to play together.

Peninsula were runners-up in the 2017 Margaret Smale Interclub Teams Challenge held at the club on Sunday 12 March. With 14 club points Peninsula was just beaten by Trumps on 16.5. See the full results below.
A stand-out success on a day with many for Peninsula was Peninsula's 8th team winning Category D. Heidi Colenbrander, Ray Hurst, Marieta Borthwick and Annegrete Kolding decisively won their category winning 5 points for the club.

Peninsula Bridge Club is going to revamp its website to make it more representative of the large and vibrant club that it represents.
This involves many aspects such as its design, structure, and functionality and of course the content it presents.
We'd love your help in reviewing what we have and what we want. If you have used our existing website or have used any other bridge club website, we want to capture your views of what works well and what doesn't. We have a simple form below to help capture your thoughts in a way we can use. Please give us your views - and submit a comment many times if you have thoughts on lots of pages!
