2015 Margaret Smale Inter-club Teams Challenge

Peninsula wo the trophy last year and we were hoping to hang on to it but in the end it was North Shore Bridge club who triumphed.

Thirty-six teams from seven bridge clubs battled it out against each other to see which club has the best talent across the range of Masterpoint categories. The three smaller club entries from Gordon Bridge Centre, Bridge Today (Narrabeen RSL), and Balgowlah-Dee Why combined into an All-Stars group to compete with strong entries from Peninsula, Trumps, North Shore and Manly Leagues. A successful club needed to enter teams of all levels of experience with each of the fields contributing to the club result.

Teams were divided into four fields (based on each team's player with the highest number of MP):

    1. Over 750 MP (8 teams)
    2. 300-750 MP (10 teams)
    3. 100-300 MP (10 teams)
    4. Less than 100 MP (8 teams)

The full results including pair datums for these four fields are published here.

North Shore won the 2015 Margaret Smale Sydney North Inter-Club Teams with 16 points ahead of Peninsula (13) and Trumps (11).

    A New Evening Session

On Wednesday 27 May we will introduce an additional evening bridge session, starting at 7.30 pm.  For this new session, you can come alone and be paired up on the night.

    Mid-winter News Update

During the regular Wednesday afternoon session, from 15th July onwards, a separate section will be set up for Novice players with less than 10 Masterpoints. The Director for this section will be a member of the Bridge Education team. You can come without a partner and either be paired up with another person who has come alone or else play with the Director. You should be seated by 12:15, but it would be advisable to arrive by 12 if you have come without a partner. This could be an excellent opportunity to start playing in a regular Duplicate session with and against players of a similar standard and may also be a way of finding a compatible Bridge partner for the future.
