See below for answers to questions such as:
- Why couldn't my partner and I register for a club BBO tournament?
- Why weren't my partner and I taken into a tournament after successfully registering?
- Why can't my partner and I play in a restricted tournament when our MPs average below the restriction cut-off level?
- How do I find a partner for a club BBO tournament?
- What is the difference between BB Points and ABF Masterpoints?
BBO provides useful detailed records of hands that you have played, including the bidding and card by card play of the hands. These can be found in History | My table for games currently under way, in History | Recent tournaments for club hosted sessions and other BBO tournaments, and in History | Recent hands for private table or other games in the Casual area (such as Main and Relaxed Bridge Clubs).
If you do not have a partner lined up then, when you register for a BBO tournament, click on the Partnership Desk tab. If there are players already listed there, you can invite one to partner you. If not, or you are wanting to offer to be a fill-in only if needed you can add yourself to the list and wait to see if someone else will come along and invite you to play.
You can even require any interested partner to pay your table money which might be quite appropriate if you are there only to offer to be a fill-in if needed.
If no-one takes up your offer before the tournament starts, you can BBO chat to the director just before or immediately the tournament starts in case he needs to fill in a half table - the director's BBO username is listed in the Tournament's Details tab.
We are no longer going to report the results from club BBO sessions in the Club BBO Session Results article.
You can now see club BBO session results in the normal way:
- on the club website under the Results menu.
- in Pianola
You can also see the last week's results on the BBO site itself using the BBO Session results menu option under the Results menu or under the Quick Links on the home page.
Here’s the lowdown on ABF Masterpoints at our club-hosted BBO sessions:
How to ensure you receive ABF masterpoints you earn
To receive ABF Masterpoints for one of our club hosted BBO tournaments you need to register (once-only) your BBO username with the ABF (this is additional to registering your BBO username with the Peninsula Bridge Club).
BBO, our regular online bridge platform, has recently improved its voice chat functionality. Here is the BBO video chat guide to the new functionality.
Note:
- It is off by default. Not only does the club director need to enable the option, but each player also needs to enable it as far as they are concerned.
- It is restricted to chat at the table level - there is no voice chat to a tournament at a whole.
- It is not available to teaching, bidding practice or user set up tables at this stage.
