After spending some time investigating our budget options for 2019, the Committee is pleased to advise that its does not currently see a need to change table and membership fees. As you know the Concession membership category was removed in January 2018.
As promised in May, we have successfully identified some additional cost savings, such as arranging for discounts on our electricity bills, waiving of bank fees, lower cost purchasing arrangements for kitchen supplies, as well as incorporating other suggestions made by members throughout the year.
We have made one small change that will affect members with the discount for purchasing 10 PPV tickets being reduced from $5 to $3. This applies from 25 October. Surprisingly this will save about $5,000 per year. With all these changes the budget should result in a solid surplus, strengthening our position overall to help us face our uncertain premises future.
While we have been reassured that Northern Beaches Council is aware of our needs, we also understand they would expect us to contribute significantly (as we did when we became tenants here at the Nelson Heather Centre) in order to retain at least the same quality club-house facilities that we currently enjoy.
